PANELIST FOR THE ELDERLY OR ELDER WEBINAR
One of my intentions for this Webinar is to begin my understanding of how to build this collective by bringing in long-term industry players and those who have arrived more recently.
As an Elder, I’ve come to learn that the future lives in other people’s speaking. For me, I’ll hear the next step in building this Elder collective.
I’ve got the right people on the panel. A very diverse yet equally aware group of Elders. Barbara has presence and wisdom that permit her to tell someone at the table, “You have my seat.”
Barbara Roth, M.A., dedicated over 45 years to child and youth development across local, state, and national levels. Her career encompassed roles such as running a child care center, teaching at community colleges, developing programs for the YMCA, managing initiatives through the State Department of Education, and consulting nationally for Ys through the YMCA of the USA .
Since retiring in 2018, Roth has transitioned to focus on conscious eldering. She began this journey with a Choosing Conscious Elderhood retreat at Ghost Ranch, New Mexico, just a week after her retirement. Since then, she has co-led several retreats, including her first at Ghost Ranch in September 2022 .=
What I believe you’ll witness from her Preview Video, at least I certainly did, is what is possible for a woman who wholeheartedly engages in evolving herself to be an elder. Quite remarkable.

Optional Reading – ChatGPT’s Report on Collective vs Network
The distinction between a collective and a network lies in their organizational dynamics and how they function:
1. Collective: A collective emphasizes unity and cooperation among its members towards a common goal or purpose. It typically involves individuals or entities coming together with shared values, interests, or objectives. The power of a collective often derives from collective action, shared resources, and a sense of solidarity. It can mobilize significant influence and impact by pooling together diverse strengths and perspectives towards a unified direction.
2. Network: A network, on the other hand, focuses on connections and relationships between individuals, organizations, or entities. It operates more fluidly, allowing for decentralized communication, exchange of information, and collaboration across different nodes or points. Networks are valuable for their flexibility and ability to facilitate diverse interactions and rapid dissemination of ideas or resources.
