Re: An Invitation with Conditions
Opening
Most people get the idea of Elderhood. They understand the words, the concepts, the qualities. But there’s a wide canyon between understanding what an Elder is… and actually growing into one.
This next panel webinar is designed to bridge that canyon.
At this stage, what people want from this form of Webinar isn’t more theory. They want guidance. They want honesty. They want to hear how actual Elders do the inner work that makes Elderhood real — not as a slogan, but as a lived way of being.
The Panel
The panel has evolved. After two successful Webinars, we now know how to deliver an interaction that doesn’t just talk about Elderhood but brings the presence of the Elder in the people who attend. Not just informational but existential. A transformation in who you are. Older to Elder.
Our panel is now able to deliver to registrants not only understanding but also direct experiences of Elder, leading to personal transformation in their own Elder journey.
We have six panel members and a host with very different ages, histories, professional careers, backgrounds, lessons learned, higher purposes, and life experiences, yet, whatever route each has taken, all have become Elders in their own right.
The multiple experiences of panel members will give attendees much greater access to their own insights, experiences, and breakthroughs.
But here’s what we’ve learned from those first two Webinars:
Transformation doesn’t happen through casual participation. It requires a different quality of presence—a different way of listening entirely.
The Difference Between “Interested” and “Committed” Listening
When someone is interested, the listening is casual, convenient, and self-referential.
They listen as long as it’s comfortable. They filter everything through “Do I like this?” “Does this fit what I already think?” “Is this useful to me right now?”
Interest is preference-based. It’s lightweight. It doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t change you. Most of it happens in the mind, which means it competes with thousands of other thoughts. What’s being said and how it is listened to is not “mission critical.”
But when someone is committed, the listening—and the listener—shift entirely.
Committed listening, as opposed to interested listening, is intentional, disciplined, and seeks something not yet clearly defined. A listening that is seeking and the listener, a seeker.
Here’s the distinction:
· Interested: “I’ll listen if it fits, if it’s not demanding, if it’s not challenging, and if it’s reassuring.”
· Committed: “I’ll listen because it matters to my life.”
Committed listening is what makes the work of the Webinar land. It’s what will bring your own internal Elder forward. And it’s what allows this panel to serve you at the depth this stage of life deserves.
What We’re Asking For
To produce a genuinely transformational result, we need people who show up as committed listeners, not casual spectators. If you register and secure a Seat, we’re asking you to do what’s necessary to be there—fully.
Commitment shows up in two places: your calendar and your checkbook. And at this stage of life, your time is every bit as valuable as your money.
If you’re engaged, concerned, wrestling with anxiety about growing old… if questions about “What’s next?”, death, dying, and meaning are no longer theoretical… and if something in you knows that becoming an Elder is exactly what’s needed—then please register and take a Seat.
After you secure your Seat, you’ll receive a short online questionnaire. The panel will review responses to determine what you want to accomplish in this Webinar. You’ll also get one—maybe two—brief emails to keep you engaged and prepared.
So, here’s the ask, plainly:
If you register and take a Seat, check your schedule, put it on your calendar, respond to the questionnaire, and honor your commitment to attend.
What You’ll Get in Return
We’re not just asking for commitment—we’re matching it.
If we rely on committed listening to produce a transformational result, it must be met with committed speaking.
Each panel member has repeatedly demonstrated their commitment to being an Elder, and their speaking comes directly from that commitment. It’s straight, unvarnished, and meant to move you.
Come ready to discover what it would be like for you to grow into an Elder—and what you’ll need to take on to get there.
To demonstrate our commitment, each panel member will make themselves available after the Webinar for individual follow-up questions or inquiries. Their brief bios and contact information will be on the website.
This offer of individual panel interactions is only for attendees, and these channels will open immediately after the Webinar.
We’re committed to your Elder journey—if you take the Seat, we walk with you.
