ACKNOWLEDGEMENT IS THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF REQUEST
Most people think acknowledgment is a polite gesture. A nod. A “thank you.” A social lubricant that keeps conversations moving. That’s not what it is.
Acknowledgment is an act of reality-making. The remarkable expansion of readership of Elder Wisdom is a very direct acknowledgment that has made “Elder Wisdom” real in the world.
Your acknowledgment did something simple and irreversible for and to me. It moved my body of work out of my private interior and into the world where it could stand on its own.
Acknowledgement asks more of what is being acknowledged.
And now, because it stands between us instead of inside me, it belongs to something larger than my voice or my intention. It has become part of the field that others can enter, test, challenge, and carry forward.
That is the difference your acknowledgment has made.
For me, it ended a solitary conversation.
For the world, it is now a shared one.
Reality has been granted.
In the first eleven months of existence, over 1,100 people chose to stand inside this conversation as subscribers, not counting numbers of visitors. More than 54,000 moments of attention were given—not to consume, but to thoughtfully consider.
These numbers are not a victory lap. They are a signal. They are an entreating ask for continuance.
When something is acknowledged, it stops being a thought or a position to prove. It becomes something that stands. This work—this distinction between growing old and becoming an Elder, as expressed in Elder Wisdom, no longer lives only in my interior. It now lives among us.
That’s why acknowledgment sits above most requests. Most requests aim for behavior. “Subscribe.” “Share.” “Support.” Those are transactions. They can be fulfilled without anything changing inside a person.
What has happened here is different. After nearly a year, these results acknowledge that the time has come for the Elder to be currently recognized and valued. It opens the door to growing old as an Elder being made existent.
People didn’t just pass through this work. They stayed. They returned. They brought others with them.
Something consistent appeared: recognition. “I see what you’re pointing at.” “I recognize myself in this.” “This belongs in the world.” “I see another way to grow old now available for me.” “I see I have a higher purpose.”
That’s why empowerment shows up when acknowledgment is real. The fight for legitimacy ends.
Once something is acknowledged, the conversation can’t return to where it was.
Reality along with a new future has been granted.
Acknowledging My Allies
I close by acknowledging three allies without whom Elder Wisdom would not be possible.
I acknowledge those pioneers and leaders who generated the conditions for Elder Wisdom to take root: Center for Conscious Eldering, The Sage-ing Guild (Conscious Aging Alliance), Modern Elder Academy (MEA), Center for Conscious Aging (multiple community hubs like The Jung Center Houston), and now the hundreds of Elders around the world that have formed groups, communities and even enterprises for Eldering.
I acknowledge Melissa Greer, my operations manager and collaborative thought partner. She manages the posts, Websites, Office work-products, and new technologies. She keeps me and all the required tasks on track. She absolutely gets it done. Wind beneath my wings.
I acknowledge you, the readers. Without you, this incredible outcome would not have occurred, and its difference-making would never have happened.
Acknowledgement is the highest level of request, so I appreciate and interpret your request for me to forward “Elder” an available and empowering pathway for growing old, and for Elder to contribute in repairing the world.
An opened-hearted thank you.

Alone, but not lonely. As a photographer, you need to be alone to be fully quite and present so you see with creative eyes. Beside, authentic Elders spend time alone because we just don't need drama or gossip that dominates the cutlure in our space. Alone is where peace, tranguiltiy, and insights occurs. But, the revolution is underway. There are verifiable Elder-related groups/entities in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. The estimated count of Elder-related entities worldwide was 3,200 to 4,500. ChatGPT estimated that there were between 10,000 and 50,000 “Elder” posts on social media each week. We're becomign a manifestion in the the world. Glad you're fellow pilgrim on the path.
Sometimes real Elders need to be quiet and work locally. But hey American Elders need to start a revolution.
